Gifted Testing

Gifted Testing

Gifted nominations are accepted August through October 15th of each school year.  If your child is interested in qualifying for the gifted program, please encourage your child to do their best on every assessment they take at school!  Glynn County will use MAP Assessments given to all elementary students at the beginning of the year as part of the gifted referral process.  Glynn County will use MAP scores to determine an automatic nomination for gifted testing.   In addition, the initial MAP assessment scores will be used for the achievement portion needed to qualify students for the gifted program.

Three tests and a teacher completed rating scale are used to determine eligibility for the gifted program.

The Cognitive Abilities Test (COGAT) is administered to obtain a Intellectual Ability Score.  The MAP assessment will provide  Reading/Math Achievement Scores.  Students will also take the Torrance Test of Creativity.

If you would like to nominate your child, please contact the counselor by  OCTOBER 15 at [email protected].
